Away from Malaysia again

I am so excited as my BFF Bayam (as we nickname her) and I will be away from Malaysia for a four day short vacation in The Land of Smiles. This trip will be my second trip going there within a year. This time around, shopping is not the main agenda (it was for the past few months but not any more due to fund constraint..hahaha) I am expecting more photo-taking and sight seeing as I already owned a dslr.. hehehe..

p/s: my BFF nicknamed me as Mariam or sometimes Mary ..hmmm

Anyway, I have already courier Sabah goodies to one of our winner, Soulie for "Borneo Giveaway Contest".

Did some doodles on the message cover :p

See u guys again hopefully with more exciting stories about my vacation.. ta ta ..

Winner for Borneo Giveaway

Our Borneo Giveaway Contest just ended. On behalf of Elara, I am apologizing to Soulie and Emila Yusof for the delay. Still, Elara and me is so honour to have Soulie and Emila Yusof on board to win our heart with their interesting story about their last visit to Sabah dan Sarawak respectively. If you wish to read about it, you may just click here and here.

I think Soulie and Emila Yusof should come to Sabah and Sarawak again and explore the rest of the state. Don't you think so??? hehehe..

Soulie will receive goodies from Sabah while Emila Yusof will be getting herself goodies from Sarawak. So, hope you two can email us with your mailing address so the goodies can be courier straight to your door step.

Manukan Island, Sabah

Our Boat Ride

At the Manukan Island Jetty

We went to Manukan Island a day after our futsal tournament. Definitely had the intention to release our tension over the tournament and of course enjoying ourselves with the whitey sandy beach and the multiple blue colour ocean. Sound interesting right.

If you wish to go to any of the nearby island, you can just get yourself to Jesselton Point Waterfront and get your ticket from the counter. The Jesselton Point Waterfront is open daily from 6am up until 2am; the ferry and boat terminal operates daily from 6am to 6pm. If you need more information, you may contact 088-240709 (8am - 5pm), 088-231050 (fax) or email to jesseltonpoint@bumiria.com.my .You may choose to go either to Mamutik Island, Manukan Island, Sapi Island, Sulug Island or Gayana Island. Most of the island is park under Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. We choose Manukan Island as this island offer most complete facilities that we may need compare with other island. With 51 acres, Manukan was the site of an old stone quarry before WWII and the remains of the old manager's house and some old graves can still be seen. It is now the site of the Park Headquarters. Anyway, enjoy our candid or not so candid pose at Manukan Island.

Harvest Festival is just around the corner for both Sabah and Sarawak. The Kaamatan festival is an annual event in the cultural life of the Kadazandusuns of Sabah since time immemorial. This ceremony is now celebrated at village, district and state levels annually (30 - 31 May). While, Gawai Day or Gawai Dayak is a festival celebrated in Sarawak on 1 June every year. It is both a religious and social occasion for the native ethnic groups in Sarawak which includes the Iban, Bidayuh and the Orang Ulu.

This mean I am going back home to celebrate Gawai Dayak with my family, relatives and friends. My holiday season will start from 29 May till 4 June which means that I would not be 24/7 in front of my laptop for any internet surfing unless there is time for me to do so. But I would not leave my reader with empty thought. Thus, me and Elara has decided to throw out a Borneo Giveaway. We both celebrate Gawai Dayak so we love to share our celebration with our readers. Here is some of the items that we love to give out to our lucky readers.
